You Don’t Have to Know How Everything Will Work Out
You’ve made the effort, but uncertainty still fills your mind. Discover how tawakkul can help you take the next step with trust in Allah.

You’ve sent the application. Submitted the proposal. Had the difficult conversation.
Now you’re waiting—and your mind keeps asking the same questions.
What if it doesn’t work? What if I made the wrong choice? What will happen next?
Planning can help you prepare. But going over the same fears cannot tell you what tomorrow will bring.
You can give something your best effort without knowing exactly how it will turn out.
Keep Taking Useful Action
In Sahih Muslim 2664, the Prophet ﷺ teaches us to pursue what benefits us, seek Allah’s help, and not give up.
There is something practical here: effort and reliance on Allah belong together.
Prepare well. Ask someone knowledgeable for advice. Make dua. Follow up when it is time. If you learn something new, adjust your approach.
You can hope for a good outcome and work wholeheartedly towards it. You do not need certainty before taking the next sensible step.
Trust Allah With What Comes Next
Allah says:
وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُۥٓ
“And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He ˹alone˺ is sufficient for them.”
The same verse reminds us that Allah achieves His will. The outcome remains with Him.
Tawakkul means relying on Allah while taking the steps available to you.
Your part is to act with care and seek His help. You can entrust the result to Him.
That can change how you spend the waiting time. You can return to your work, be present with your family, or get the rest you need, while still caring about the outcome.
One Thing to Try Today
Choose one situation you keep worrying about. Ask yourself: “Is there something useful I can do about this today?”
If there is, take that step. Send the email. Ask the question. Prepare for the meeting.
If you have done what you reasonably can for now, make dua and give your attention to something else that matters.
You can keep your ambitions, give your best effort, and look forward with hope.
You don’t have to know how everything will work out to take the next step with trust in Allah.
